£30m from Chelsea despite being sacked… now Man United could pay Mourinho for doing nothing too

The Jose Mourinho contract that Manchester United are reportedly drawing up will seriously pickle your brain!

Jose Mourinho was sacked by Chelsea in December, less than five months after signing a new four-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

In the wake of his dismissal, The Mirror claimed that the Special One would still receive the remainder of his wages from his latest Chelsea deal – worth £30m according to the report.

As if it were not mad enough for Mourinho to continue being paid so handsomely by Chelsea after they gave him the boot, he could soon find himself on Manchester United’s payroll for doing sweet F.A. too!

The Mirror are now telling us that the former Chelsea boss is being lined up to replace Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford, but the Red Devils are seemingly not yet 100% sure that they want rid of the Dutchman. Mourinho could sign a deal sooner rather than later that would see him receive significant compensation should LVG remain in charge this summer, so say the newspaper.

Van Gaal is a pretty unpopular figure among United supporters at present, but football is famously fickle. If his side were to sneak above Manchester City into fourth place and beat Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final, many fans would probably hail this season as a success.
