Euro heavyweights hint they’ll do everything to sign Chelsea international midfielder

PSV Eindhoven general manager Toon Gerbrands has hinted that the club will to their utmost to sign Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel.

The Dutch international spent the first half of the season on loan at Stoke City, but while he didn’t truly impress under Mark Hughes, he has returned to his best form since moving back to the Eredivisie on a temporary basis on the last day of the January transfer window.

Van Ginkel has shone upon his return to his homeland, helping PSV push league leaders Ajax hard as they look to claim an unlikely Dutch title.

With one game left to play, the two rivals are tied on 81 points at the top of the table, with Ajax enjoying a better goal difference.

Encouraged by his performances, Gerbrands has hinted that his side are keen to sign van Ginkel permanently this summer.

“We had a good chance to get him and he’s enjoying himself here,” the general manager began, speaking to the De Tafel van Kees show on Fox Sports.

“Will we do everything to keep him?” the general manager continued. “Based on the signals I have received, yes, but we are not yet in talks with Chelsea.”
