Adnan Januzaj was once Manchester United’s next big thing. Now he is a laughing stock.
The 21-year-old last appeared for the Red Devils in February. Yesterday at Norwich City, a rare appearance was twice dangled in front of him before Louis van Gaal cruelly pulled it away.
Van Gaal had Januzaj primed to come on before Juan Mata’s goal, which proved to be the winner at Carrow Road, forced him into a rethink and midfielder Morgan Schniederlin was introduced.
The playmaker was asked to strip down to his kit again a few minutes later, only for Timothy Fosu-Mensah to get the nod instead. The bench could not help but laugh as Januzaj returned for a second time.

Anthony Martial cannot control himself in the seat next to Januzaj, and even the coaching staff were having a good laugh at the expense of a man who has played for Belgium in a World Cup.
Even Januzaj seemed to see the funny side, but there must be a sadness hidden behind that smile.
Januzaj burst onto the scene during the David Moyes era, but has found opportunities hard to come by under Van Gaal, making just nine league starts and scoring once for the Dutch manager.
