Liverpool consider summer exit for out-of-favour defender

Liverpool want to send out-of-favour defender Mamadou Sakho out on loan before the end of the transfer window according to the Telegraph.

Per the source, the Reds want to send Sakho out on loan so that he can regain his fitness and form – and probably think about his behaviour towards head coach Jurgen Klopp.

After failing a drugs test at the end of last season for a fat-burning substance, he missed the Europa League final and Euro 2016.

The final straw for Klopp came when he was then sent home from Liverpool’s pre-season tour after not respecting rules over time-keeping.

Sakho reportedly turned up late for training, was late for a team flight from Liverpool to California last month and also turned up for a team meal late after missing his treatment session at the squad camp in Palo Alto.

The Sun, recently reported that the Reds were looking to recoup as much of the £18m that they spent on him this summer and that Besiktas were interested.

The Black Eagles would be unable to match Sakho’s asking price but would be able to cover part of his wages on a loan move and offer first team as well as Champions League football.
