Chelsea and Manchester United to do battle to sign Italian wonder-kid

The Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester United are closely monitoring AC Milan’s 17-year-old wonder-kid Gianluigi Donnarumma according to the Italian outlet Sport Mediaset (via Goal).

The reports state that the Premier League duo are keeping a close eye on goalkeeper however, AC Milan are preparing a bumper new deal for their star asset to ward off interest from abroad.

The young keeper currently earns just £124,000-a-year at AC Milan – less than Wayne Rooney earns in a week.

Donnarumma made his senior debut for the Italian national team last week. The 17-year-old did however sit on the bench for Italy’s 3-1 victory over Israel earlier this evening.

Manchester United may have a head start ahead of Chelsea in the race to sign Donnarumma as the 17-year-old is represented by Mina Riola, who completed deals taking Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to United this summer.

The Red Devils take on their rivals Manchester City this weekend in the Premier League.
