Tottenham striker Harry Kane has not scored for the North London based outfit or the England national team since his goal against Turkey on May 22 in an international friendly at the Etihad stadium.

Despite being heavily criticised for his recent form Kane underlined that he was also slammed last season after failing to score in his first six Premier League games.

Kane went onto score 25 times and won the Golden Boot in the process helping Spurs finish the league in third place and booked a place in the Champions League.

“Unfortunately there was a lot of talk last year and I managed to prove a lot of people wrong, so people will talk this year as well,” Kane was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

“It’s part of football. It’s what they’re doing. I am confident in my ability. I know that if I continue doing what I am doing the goals will come, that is all I can do.”

Kane featured in the 1-0 victory over Slovakia in England’s opening 2018 World Cup qualifier but yet against failed to find the back of the net.

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana scored the winner in the fourth minute of additional time to take all three points.

Spurs take on Stoke City next at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday and Kane is expected to start.
