Danny Ings career hanging by thread after injury to *good knee* knocks £60k-a-week Liverpool star out for 2016-17 season

The footballing career of Liverpool striker Danny Ings looks in very bad shape after he was today ruled out for the rest of the 2016-17 season.

Former Burnley star Ings missed most of the 2015-16 campaign with a cruciate knee problem and has only played twice this term, with both appearances coming as a substitute in the EFL Cup.

According to The Telegraph – who describe the news as “devastating” – Ings is having surgery in London and the 24-year-old’s season is over.

Again, it is a knee problem that will see Ings ruled out.

However, it’s not the same knee as before. No, this is his *good knee*, which makes the story all the most heart-breaking.

Ings has another three and a half years left to run on his current contract, which is worth £60,000 a week, per the Daily Star.

Since signing for the Reds in June 2015, Ings has scored four goals in 11 games for the Anfield club.

Let’s hope Ings can fight his way back from this latest blow. It’s not looking great though.
