Agent risks incurring Liverpool wrath as he pushes influential ace towards Barcelona

The agent of Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho appears to be playing a dangerous game as it’s reported that he’s pushing his client towards Barcelona.

Coutinho has been in excellent form so far this season, scoring five goals and producing five assists in 11 appearances in all competitions.

As he continues to establish himself as a fundamental part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans, Liverpool will be desperate to avoid losing him, but his agent, Kia Joorabchian, appears to have other plans.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Brazilian international’s representative is trying to push Barcelona to make a move for the 24-year-old, although at this stage the answer seems to be that Luis Enrique isn’t considering him for the January transfer market.

The report also goes on to note that Coutinho met with Barcelona players at their team hotel during their trip to Manchester to face City in the Champions League this week, while he maintains a strong relationship with compatriot Neymar who has made no secret of his desire to see him join him at the Nou Camp.

It’s a concerning time for Liverpool as it seems as though speculation will only continue to build, but ultimately it will come down to the player’s wishes and the resolve of the club.

Having sold key players such as Fernando Torres, Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling in recent years, the Reds don’t want to continue this reputation of being a selling club.

With Klopp building a strong squad capable of competing for silverware, he’ll be desperate to add to it and not lose key pieces, and Coutinho very much falls into that category.
