Former Man United winger who broke the British transfer record with £59.7M fee could be the next big-name to move to China

Former Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria could be set to leave PSG and become the latest big-name to join the Chinese Super League, report The Sun.

Di Maria moved to United in the summer of 2014 for a fee of, as reported by the BBC, £59.7 million. At the time of the transfer, that was a British transfer record fee, but has since been beaten by Paul Pogba’s return to Old Trafford in August. He made just 27 appearances for United, scoring three goals. The Argentina international left the Premier League giants after just one season, joining PSG for a fee the BBC believed to be £44.3 million.

The 28-year-old found the back of the net on ten occasions in his debut season in Ligue 1, as PSG won a domestic treble. He could be set to leave Paris already, however.

The Sun cite French publication L’Equipe in reporting that several Chiense sides would be interested in adding Di Maria to their ranks. They note that he is not training with PSG due to ‘personal reasons’, which has sparked speculation that he could be set for a move away.

Di Maria appears to be struggling to find a place to call home, is China really the answer?
