Arsenal line up Borussia Dortmund star as potential Alexis Sanchez replacement, Bundesliga giants have other plans

Arsenal are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus, but the Bundesliga giants may have other plans for the German international, report Calciomercato.

Reus moved to the Westfalenstadion in the summer of 2012 on the back of a 21-goal season for Bundesliga counterparts Borussia Monchengladbach. He bagged 19 goals in his debut season in Dortmund, and fast established himself as one of the best players in his home country.

However, despite scoring 83 goals in 181 appearances for Dortmund, his time with the club has been tainted by a string of injury problems. That doesn’t however, appear to have deterred Premier League giants Arsenal.

Calciomercato believe that the Gunners are lining up Reus as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez if the Chilean departs in the summer transfer window.

However, Spanish outlet Don Balon believe that Dortmund are interested in signing Atletico Madrid winger Nico Gaitan, and could offer Reus in exchange for his services. Arsene Wenger may need to look elsewhere in his search for a Sanchez replacement.
