Chelsea transfer news: Spanish giants want indispensable £30m star, loanee return confirmed

Chelsea reportedly face a potentially serious headache this summer, as Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane wants to sign N’Golo Kante.

Having won back-to-back Premier League titles with two different teams, the Frenchman has established himself as one of the top midfielders in Europe.

With his tireless work ethic, defensive qualities and powerful presence to command a midfield battle, he has been essential to Antonio Conte this season as Chelsea secured the title and will go for a domestic double with the FA Cup next weekend.

According to Don Balon though, the Blues could be coming under serious pressure to keep him at Stamford Bridge as it’s claimed that Zidane wants him at Real Madrid.

Los Blancos are on course for their own success this season as they look to win the La Liga title this weekend and could follow it up with the Champions League trophy next month, but there is still seemingly areas of improvement for the French legend.

With Casemiro struggling at times, the Madrid boss wants Kante to bolster his midfield but it’s added that the La Liga giants are fully aware of the fact that it will be difficult to sign him, similar to their reported pursuit of Eden Hazard.

As noted by BBC Sport, Kante arrived at Chelsea in a £30m move from Leicester City last summer, and given his growing importance and reputation for club and country, he will undoubtedly fetch much more than that.

However, the fact remains that Conte will have no interest in losing him whatever the offer as he has proven himself to be an indispensable member of the Chelsea team.

Meanwhile, one man who is set to return to Stamford Bridge next season is defender Andreas Christensen, as Borussia Monchengladbach bid him farewell following their final Bundesliga game of the season on Saturday, as seen in his Instagram post below.

The Dane has impressed many with his form in Germany and a return to Chelsea has long been touted. It looks as though he will now spend the summer trying to impress Conte, proving to him that he doesn’t need to splash out on a new face at the back as he can rely on him for quality and depth with the Blues looking to compete on various fronts next year.

Thank you @borussia ?? #einmalborusseimmerborusse Mo, good luck at BVB ??
