Pep Guardiola eyes major double swoop as Man City set to splash out £300m this summer

Fresh from signing Bernardo Silva for £43m, as per BBC Sport, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly ready to move again for two more signings.

It appears as though the Spanish tactician is wasting little time in his bid to strengthen his squad this summer, as he eyes a mini-overhaul of sort with full-backs high on his agenda.

Pablo Zabaleta, Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy were released this week, and so it’s no surprise that The Independent suggest that two full-backs are set to be next on City’s list.

It’s not good news for Tottenham as Kyle Walker is one of them, while Monaco will have to brace themselves for another raid from the English giants as Benjamin Mendy will potentially be their next high-profile player to depart.

While Walker will reportedly double his £70,000-a-week wages, it remains to be seen whether or not the two clubs can agree on a transfer fee as although Tottenham won’t want to sell, if they receive a significant bid, they could consider their options.

Further, it’s suggested by the Independent that Guardiola has £300m for transfers this summer, and that is a ominous sign for his Premier League rivals as he will now take big steps to stamping his mark on this squad and leading them on more competitive runs in the respective competitions that they will participate in.

As for Monaco, it seems like the management are doing a great job as they’ve already snapped up talented youngster Youri Tielemans as a replacement for Silva, and even though they may be forced to sell important individuals in the squad, it could be a way of keeping their biggest starlet in Kylian Mbappe at the club for a little longer.
