Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil will be under pressure to perform this weekend, and he’s adamant that he’s ready to step up and respond.
The German international hasn’t produced anywhere near his best form so far this season, with injuries and a loss of form preventing him from playing an influential role for Arsene Wenger’s side as he’s managed just six relatively brief appearances in all competitions so far this season.
His inability to influence the big games consistently has left Arsenal fans bitterly frustrated over the years, while as reported by Manchester Evening News this past week, there were suggestions that he had told his current teammates that he was off to join Man Utd next summer.
There’s a great deal of uncertainty over Ozil’s future at Arsenal, as his current contract is set to expire at the end of the season.
With no suggestion that a renewal is set to be signed any time soon, he could be on his way out even in January for a cut-price deal if Arsenal don’t want to risk losing him for nothing in the summer.
However, as seen in the post below, he’s ready to “ignore the noise and stay focused” this weekend, but that won’t mean too much for Arsenal supporters at this stage as he’ll have to do his talking on the pitch and deliver when it really matters.
Everton away was one of the games last season where he failed to show up, and he can’t afford a repeat performance of that and neither can his teammates as they will be desperate for a win to close the gap on those above them in the Premier League table.
