The latest England squad has been released.
Gareth Southgate has named his latest England squad, with Arsenal and Liverpool fans taking to Twitter to express their rage at some high-profile omissions.
Reds duo Daniel Sturridge and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have been overlooked by Southgate due to not playing regularly for Jurgen Klopp’s side, and the England boss admitted Arsenal star Wilshere is out of the reckoning for the same reason.

(Watch) Jack Wilshere magic surely merited an England recall?
Still, Wilshere remains a squad player at Arsenal, and Southgate said: ‘I don’t know how you get in an England squad if you’re not in the Arsenal team.’
The 25-year-old Gunners midfielder has had some decent cameos in Arsene Wenger’s side of late, but still seemingly not enough regular football to be considered for an international recall.
Usual suspects such as Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling are in, while surprise call-ups come to Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tammy Abraham and a return after a four-year absence for Ashley Young.

I like the inclusion of some of the younger players (Abraham, RLC, Winks), don’t know why Lingard and Young are in there, no Wilshere is a joke, absolutely no creativity in our midfield at all https://t.co/mnBCJEgw8e

How’s Ashley Young in there but still no Wilshere ?

No Wilshere is just scandalous. Fair enough to try new players but surely if that’s the case someone like Lascelles warrants a spot? https://t.co/IANm4E6XeF

No Sturridge in #ENG squad, 2 goals in 2 games for #LFC not enough to secure his place

A promising squad overall. Not entirely sure of his handling of Smalling, Chamberlain + Sturridge with a view towards the summer though. https://t.co/aS04P5gBLd
