The Mesut Ozil Manchester United transfer saga just took a fresh twist as Juventus deploy Sami Khedira to lure the Arsenal playmaker to Turin.
The Germany international is nearing the end of his contract at the Emirates Stadium and has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford for the last few months.
However, United are under pressure to get a deal done this January as Ozil is technically free to negotiate with European clubs.
Corriere dello Sport claim Juve are now in the running and that Ozil is keen to play in a new league after proving himself in the Bundesliga, La Liga and Premier League.
On top of that, Juventus have apparently deployed Ozil’s old team-mate Khedira to try and help the club win the race for his signature.
Arsenal would surely rather lose the 29-year-old abroad than to a Premier League rival like United, so could be relieved to hear of this development in their ongoing transfer battle.
United, meanwhile, could offload the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan to make room for Ozil, according to various recent reports.
