Man Utd are reportedly lining up a whopping £440m move to bring in a superstar at Old Trafford, as a ‘gift’ for Jose Mourinho.
The Red Devils have made two marquee signings in the last two summers, and they could be lining up a third with reports in Spain linking the Red Devils with a swoop for Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar.
With 20 goals in 22 games, the Brazilian has made a great impact in the French capital as he looks to win silverware both collectively and in terms of individual accolades, but speculation is already rife that he may be ready to leave at the end of the season.
According to Don Balon, as re-reported by The Express, Man Utd could try and secure a stunning £440m move for the Brazilian superstar in a bid to move the club closer to winning the Premier League title which seems a distant dream this season given Man City’s commanding lead.
While he would certainly add real class and quality to the team, that is a significant amount of money, while given he’s also been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent months, there could also be a fear that United are being used as competition in the media to drive up his price.
Neymar would be a huge signing on and off the pitch for Man Utd, but this one is certainly a transfer story that will be difficult to believe until there is serious and tangible evidence that Neymar is considering a move to Manchester.
