Manchester United have already had a busy January transfer window and all sources point towards a deal involving Alexis Sanchez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan being done today.
On top of that, there’s plenty of other transfer speculation flying about involving the Red Devils, with Jose Mourinho possibly set to make even more big changes to his squad at Old Trafford.
Here’s a neat little round-up of today’s biggest stories to keep you up to date…
Manchester United hold Lassana Diarra talks
Reports in France claim free agent midfielder Lassana Diarra was in England last weeks to hold talks over a move to Manchester United.
PSG are also in the running to sign the France international, but it looks like an approach from Jose Mourinho may have turned the 32-year-old’s head.
Mourinho has worked with Diarra before at Chelsea and Real Madrid and he could be an ideal short-term solution to the club’s defensive midfield problem as Michael Carrick is set to retire at the end of the season.
Manchester United cool interest in Real Madrid raid
Manchester United’s imminent move for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez looks set to spell the end of their interest in Real Madrid duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.
Marca claim Mourinho is no longer convinced he needs either player, despite those above him being keen on signing Bale in particular.
It remains to be seen if the Portuguese will change his mind, with alternative sources recently claiming talks had been held over both players in recent weeks.
David de Gea Manchester United exit ‘done’
Finally, Diario Gol make the shock claim that sources close to Real Madrid believe they’ve struck a deal to sign Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea for £70million in the summer.
Current ‘keeper Keylor Navas has been told to pack his bags as Florentino Perez believes he’s finally won the race for De Gea’s signature after years of trying.
There may be no need to panic, however, as sources in England recently claimed De Gea was in talks over a new contract with United, so there’s bound to be plenty of speculation like this between now and the summer.
