The odds for Gonzalo Higuain joining Chelsea has slashed following the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus.
Calciomercato state that with former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri set to take over at the Chelsea helm, it could set up a reunion for the pair with Higuain and Sarri enjoying a fruitful partnership together at Napoli with the Argentine scoring 91 goals in 146 games for the Italian giants.
With Ronaldo signing for Juventus in a €100m as per an official statement from the Serie A champions, Calciomercato report that the Turin outfit are looking at offloading Higuain to raise funds with a move to Stamford Bridge being the most likely destination.
Higuain enjoyed a successful spell with the Turin giants, scoring 55 goals in 105 games while winning two Serie A titles and two Coppa Italia trophies in his two years with the club and last season he scored 23 goals in 50 games.
Last month, Higuain appeared to send a message to the Premier League by admitting that he would ‘love’ to play in England, according to the Metro.
However, the odds with the Argentine hitman staying in Italy are high too with Inter Milan also on the list of potential suitors.
