Chelsea are reportedly edging closer to completing the signing of midfield ace Jorginho from Napoli after claims he has arrived in London.

The 26-year-old has established himself as a fundamental figure in the Napoli line-up over the past two seasons, playing a key role in his deep-lying midfield position.

Capable of providing defensive coverage as well as the vision and passing range to dictate the tempo of a game, Jorginho was crucial as the Italian giants continued to push Juventus for the Serie A title.

However, his time in Italy may well be coming to an end, as Sky Sports report that he has arrived in London as he prepares to seal a £57m move to Stamford Bridge.

It comes amid ongoing speculation that his former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri is also set to join Chelsea, with Calciomercato suggesting that he is also London bound on Friday to potentially wrap up a deal to be confirmed as Antonio Conte’s successor.

Should the pair reunite at Chelsea, it will give Jorginho the opportunity to continue to run the midfield for the Italian tactician, with N’Golo Kante perhaps offering the tireless defensive work that Allan offered so efficiently in Naples.

No official word has come from the club on either deal as of yet, although they did confirm in an official statement on Friday morning that they had indeed parted ways with Conte which seemingly opens the door for Sarri to be appointed.

Nevertheless, it appears as though Jorginho is one step ahead of him based on the reports above, as the Italian midfielder looks set for a new challenge in England after shining in Italy.
