Arsenal and Barcelona are reportedly among the clubs interested in the transfer of Juventus starlet Rodrigo Bentancur after his impressive showing at the World Cup.

A report today from Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport details the players who’ve put themselves onto the market with stand-out displays at the World Cup, and among those is Uruguay midfielder Bentancur.

The 21-year-old only joined Juventus last season and didn’t quite establish himself as a regular starter, though it seems his potential is attracting big interest.

Gazzetta dello Sport mentions Arsenal and Barcelona as his admirers, and both clubs have unquestionable needs in the middle of the park ahead of next season.

While Arsenal have already signed Bentancur’s Uruguay team-mate Lucas Torreira to boost their midfield options, they have lost Jack Wilshere this summer and could do with another upgrade on the under-performing duo of Mohamed Elneny and Granit Xhaka.

Barca, meanwhile, have seen Andres Iniesta and Paulinho leave, with the likes of Andre Gomes not really good enough to be relied on to replace them.
