What Mohamed Salah said to Liverpool teammate Loris Karius in classy supportive message

After his latest mistake for Liverpool in pre-season action, Mohamed Salah has leapt to the defence of under-fire teammate Loris Karius as he goes through a tough time.

The German goalkeeper came under intense criticism after his two blunders in the Champions League final against Real Madrid last season which saw the Reds fall short in Kiev.

Naturally, he would have been hoping to return to action to start pre-season in confident fashion, but errors against Tranmere Rovers and Borussia Dortmund have surely left his self-belief in tatters as further question marks will have been raised over his ability to deliver consistently at such a level.

To make matters worse for him on a personal level, Liverpool signed goalkeeper Alisson from Roma this month, as per Sky Sports, thus suggesting that Karius is set to drop down the pecking order under Jurgen Klopp in the upcoming campaign given the Brazilian’s £67m price-tag.

With all that in mind, it’s likely to be leaving the German shot-stopper struggling to see a future at Anfield, but Salah has provided him with some classy support as he posted the message below on Twitter to back his teammate and insisted that he must “ignore those who hate”.

It remains to be seen if the 25-year-old stays with Liverpool as a second choice option between the posts behind Alisson, or if the last few months are enough to force him to consider a fresh start elsewhere and play with less pressure given the scrutiny he’s now under in England.

Either way, Salah has proven to be a class act again with his public show of support for Karius.
