Liverpool could raise £39m from player sales as trio linked with exits

Liverpool trio Danny Ings, Simon Mignolet and Lazar Markovic could all reportedly leave the club this summer with around £39m being raised from their sales.

The Reds have had a very impressive summer transfer window to this point, with Jurgen Klopp’s side now arguably in a great position to contend for the Premier League title and major honours.

Alisson, Fabinho, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri have all arrived to strengthen the spine of the line-up and add quality depth to the squad, and so coupled with the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, Liverpool boast a very strong side that should have enough quality to really compete.

Following back-to-back finishes in the top four as well as their run to the Champions League final last season, it’s clear that they’re on the right track under Klopp’s stewardship and so time will tell if they can take that next step.

Meanwhile, The Guardian report that the Merseyside giants could be set to take steps towards balancing the books and trimming the squad with Ings, Mignolet and Markovic all paired with an exit from Anfield.

Ings is said to have a £20m price-tag with Crystal Palace linked with an interest, while Besiktas are keen on Mignolet who is said to be available for around £12m. Add on top of that the expected exit of misfit Markovic who has struggled to establish himself at Liverpool for between £5m-7m, and it could be a sensible move to offload them all.

Aside from Ings struggling with injury woes, competition for places in the final third is fierce at Liverpool with the attacking trident of Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino likely to be preferred again this season.

As for Mignolet, Alisson arguably pushes him further down the pecking order despite Loris Karius enduring a nightmare in recent months with a string of blunders, and so perhaps an exit would make sense for him too.
