Man Utd could yet land a major summer signing as reports in Italy have linked them with a swoop for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The 23-year-old has established himself as one of the top young players in Europe with his form Lazio, bagging 14 goals and nine assists in 48 appearances last season.

Further, his physicality, agility, technical quality, defensive ability and eye for goal make him a real all-round midfielder, and given his age, he still undoubtedly has plenty of room for improvement.

With that in mind, it’s no surprise that reports claim he’s attracting interest, with Calciomercato linking Man Utd with making a bid for the €155m-rated star while Real Madrid, Juventus and AC Milan are all specifically mentioned as interested parties too.

Nevertheless, it’s suggested that the Red Devils could launch a bid for the Serbian international, but they’ll have to be quick as the transfer deadline for English clubs is fast approaching on Thursday while it’s added that a move to the Bernabeu could be an attractive proposal for the player.

Jose Mourinho has seen Lee Grant, Diogo Dalot and Fred arrive so far this summer, and so for a club looking to make up a 19-point gap to champions Manchester City from last season coupled with the fact that they ended the campaign empty-handed, much more is arguably neededat Old Trafford to bolster the group to ensure that they can compete.

Pairing Milinkovic-Savic with the likes of Fred and Paul Pogba as well as Nemanja Matic in midfield could give Man Utd a solid base to build around and secure success, but time will tell if they do indeed launch a bid and whether or not it’s enough to prise the talented ace away from the Stadio Olimpico.
