Real Madrid are reportedly eager to finally seal the transfer of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic within the next 48 hours.
The Serbia international has emerged as one of the most in-demand players in Europe right now after his eye-catching displays in Serie A, and there’s no doubt he could be an important addition at the Bernabeu.

According to Don Balon, Madrid midfielder Luka Modric is keen to leave the club for Inter Milan this summer, and Milinkovic-Savic could be an ideal replacement.
However, Don Balon reports that Real are eager to get things done quickly and have set a deadline of around 48 hours to complete a deal.
It remains to be seen if an agreement can be struck in that time, with Don Balon reporting that Lazio want around £89million for their star player.

That certainly seems a price well worth paying for Los Blancos for a top player in an important position, but given their relatively quiet summer so far, it may be that they’re slightly reluctant to go out paying over the odds for new signings.
Still, if a player as influential as Modric does move on, it would surely take a significant investment to replace him in midfield.
