Man Utd fans have had to wait to see summer signing Diogo Dalot in action, but the youngster is reportedly stepping up his recovery from injury.

As per Sky Sports, it’s reported that the Red Devils splashed out £19m on the 19-year-old, as he completed his move from Porto.

However, given he was still recovering from a knee injury that he sustained last season, he was unable to feature in the club’s pre-season plans or the start of the new campaign against Leicester City last week.

That would undoubtedly have been far from ideal as Jose Mourinho would have surely wanted the youngster to get his match fitness back, acclimatise and build chemistry with his new teammates over the summer as apposed to starting that process after the season starts.

Nevertheless, there is positive news on Dalot as per the Metro, as it’s claimed that he will return to full training this week and it’s suggested that he could make his debut for Man Utd in September.

With Matteo Darmian currently deputising for Antonio Valencia at right-back with the stalwart out of action with his own injury, Mourinho will likely welcome the added competition in that department for the rest of the season.

As for Dalot though, he will undoubtedly be fully focused on building on his sharpness and developing his game to ensure that he’s ready for his first taste of Premier League football so that he can not only break into the team, but also stay there moving forward.
