Why Ernesto Valverde doesn’t want €200M world class superstar to seal Barcelona transfer

With Barcelona already adding a whole host of quality to their squad this summer, it’s easy to see why the club may not be dipping into the transfer market anymore, at least for this month.

Arturo Vidal, Arthur Melo and Malcom are some of the stars who have made the switch to the Nou Camp this summer, and it looks as if boss Ernesto Valverde doesn’t feel the need to strengthen his side’s midfield any more.

As per Don Balon, the Bluagrana manager doesn’t want the club to make a move to sign Man United midfielder Paul Pogba as he believes that his options in midfield are already good enough.

The report also notes that Pogba’s arrival could see Rakitic depart the club, something Valverde would view as a big mistake should it happen.

Pogba’s potential arrival at Barcelona could spell the end for Ivan Rakitic’s time at the club

Pogba, who Diario Gol report has a €200M asking price on his head, would be a great signing for Barca to make, however if bringing him in means that they lose Rakitic, then it’s a move that the club should definitely not be exploring.

The Croatian international has proven to be a very key part of Valverde’s side these past few years, with his partnership in the centre of the park with Sergio Busquets being an essential part of the club’s starting XI.

Not only would signing Pogba mean Barca having to dip deeply into their pockets, but it would also possibly see one of the club’s best players leave, something we’re sure no fan of the club wants to see happen.
