Loan move away for Chelsea ace on the cards as European transfer deadline approaches

England’s World Cup sensation Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been linked with a shock loan move to Ligue 1 side Monaco, according to The Sun.

The 22-year-old doesn’t seem to be part of Maurizio Sarri’s new regime at Chelsea given the fact he wasn’t even on the bench for the Blues’ clash against Arsenal.

The Premier League transfer window has already shut, but the French transfer deadline is on August 31st, giving Monaco some time before securing a desired loan switch for the midfielder.

Loftus-Cheek has found opportunities hard to come by so far this season, with only a 22-minute cameo against Huddersfield on the opening day of the season being the player’s action.

Loftus-Cheek could be handed some valuable game time if he were to be loaned to Monaco, with the French giants gearing up to challenge Paris Saint Germain for the Ligue 1 title this season.

Monaco have a very good track record of developing young players, which could appeal to Loftus-Cheek.

A loan move seems to be the only option for Loftus-Cheek, with Chelsea’s midfield ranks boasting the likes of N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, Ross Barkley and Cesc Fabregas.

With Loftus-Cheek seemingly so far down in the Blues pecking order, a loan looks to be the only viable option to continue the youngster’s development.
