Real Madrid reportedly turned down a late summer transfer window bid from Paris Saint-Germain for James Rodriguez.

The Colombia international, currently on loan at Bayern Munich, is said to want out of the Allianz Arena, but Florentino Perez blocked the deal, according to Don Balon.

Rodriguez seems to face an uncertain future at the moment after failing to really live up to the hype at either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.

Once regarded as a real up-and-coming star of the game, the 27-year-old struggled to establish himself at the Bernabeu, and despite a mini-revival at Bayern last season, seems keen to move on.

Another recent Don Balon report also suggested Rodriguez was keen on a move to the Premier League, with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool listed as potential suitors.

What does the future hold for James Rodriguez?

It remains to be seen if big clubs would really gamble on him now, but Don Balon suggest PSG were ready to do so.

Rodriguez shone in Ligue 1 with Monaco earlier in his career, so moving to a less competitive league with a dominant side may be the best way for him to maximise his talent.
