Chelsea hold talks with Juventus and AC Milan over forward transfers

Chelsea have reportedly held talks with both AC Milan and Juventus over a transfer swoop for Gonzalo Higuain for the second half of this season.

The Argentina international is one of the most clinical and accurate finishers in the game and has enjoyed a fine career at the highest level with a number of big clubs.

He’s yet to test himself in England, but Chelsea could do with a quality centre-forward like him to boost their prospects for the second half of this season as Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud continue to struggle.

According to the Telegraph, Chelsea have held talks with Higuain’s loan club Milan and his parent club Juventus over a possible deal this winter, which could also involve Morata making his way to the San Siro.

It remains to be seen if a somewhat complicated agreement can be struck, but CFC would do very well to make that upgrade up front.

Maurizio Sarri has relied on Eden Hazard for goals so far this season due to Morata’s deficiencies, but surely needs an out-and-out striker in his ranks to continue what has generally been a strong start since he took over at Stamford Bridge in the summer.
