Chelsea have reportedly been dealt a potentially huge injury blow ahead of the Champions League final.

Blues goalkeeper Edouard Mendy went off injured in today’s defeat at Aston Villa, with Kepa Arrizabalaga coming off the bench to replace him.

And according to iNews, Mendy may now struggle to make it for next week’s Champions League final clash against Manchester City.

That will not be welcome news for Chelsea fans, with Kepa often struggling when he’s started games for the club, with Mendy brought in last summer to replace him as number one.

The Senegal international has had a strong first season at Stamford Bridge and it would be sad for him to miss out on such a big game after all the fine performances he’s put in.

Mendy had some fine moments in the semi-final win over Real Madrid and Chelsea fans certainly won’t be as confident of winning the final without him starting between the sticks.

“I slept with him more times than with my own wife. I’ve done everything with Ronaldo. With and without limits” – which footballing legend made this shock revelation? Click here to find out.
