Liverpool and Tottenham have strong interest in 26-year-old World Cup star

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

The 26-year-old was one of the revelations from the last World Cup with Morocco and he helped his country reach the semi-finals of the competition.

A report from Footmercato claims that the two Premier League clubs have a strong interest in the player and they are hoping to sign him in the summer. However, Amrabat prefers a move to the Spanish league and he has been linked with clubs like Barcelona and Atletico Madrid as well.

Liverpool and Tottenham need to add more depth and quality to their midfield and 26-year-old seems like an ideal option for them. Liverpool have struggled in the middle of the park all season and they are set to lose players like Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner in the summer. Jurgen Klopp will have to bring in quality alternatives and Amrabat would certainly improve them.

As for Tottenham, summer signing Yves Bissouma has been quite underwhelming and the north London club will have to bring in someone who can start for them. They have not been able to rotate Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur properly due to the lack of depth.

The 26-year-old Fiorentina midfielder will add power, presence and defensive cover to the Tottenham or Liverpool side if he joins them. He has the physical and technical attributes to adapt to English football as well and Amrabat could prove to be a wise addition to both clubs.
