Tottenham Hotspur have offered a four-year contract offer to a standout player Frankie de Jong, seeking to bring him to Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

This offer comes after the player previously contemplated joining Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs back in 2018.

The North London club have experienced a revitalisation this season, with the appointment of Postecoglou being hailed as one of chairman Daniel Levy’s finest decisions in recent years.

The Australian, who amassed numerous honours at Celtic before moving from Glasgow to North London, has become an increasingly revered figure at the club. His style of intense, high-pressing football has garnered widespread admiration, with figures like Gary Neville among his fans. As Tottenham vies for Champions League qualification, his influence continues to grow.

While Tottenham face another season without silverware, if their current progress continues, it may only be a matter of time before they secure major trophies. The positive atmosphere surrounding Tottenham is already attracting attention, evident in their ability to outmaneuver Bayern Munich and Barcelona to secure the signings of Radu Dragusin and Lucas Bergvall in January.

Looking ahead to the summer, Tottenham have been linked with more prominent names, including Brentford star Ivan Toney. However, an intriguing elite target that has emerged recently is Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong.

The Dutchman, lauded as “spectacular” by Barca boss Xavi, revealed that he nearly joined Spurs in 2018 before ultimately choosing Camp Nou.

According to reports from Jijantes FC and journalist Gerard Romero, Postecoglou’s team have reignited their interest in the midfielder. Allegedly, Tottenham have presented a four-year contract offer to de Jong in their pursuit to secure his signature, even making an out-of-window bid to Barcelona.
