With the European Championships just a few months away now, there is a host of England players that are trying to play their way into Gareth Southgate’s plans.
One player that has been absolutely fantastic all season long is West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen. The 27-year-old has scored 15 goals in 31 Premier League games, adding five assists to his name as well.
One famous West Ham fan believes Bowen has done enough to warrant a place on the plane for the Three Lions.
Bowen is in a committed relationship with Danny Dyer’s oldest daughter, Dani, with whom he shares two children. Dyer is convinced that the West Ham star has earned his place on the plane to Germany.
The Hammers’ star is facing competition from Arsenal talisman Bukayo Saka. Saka himself has had an excellent season with 14 goals and eight assists in 29 Premier League starts.
Nevertheless, Danny Dyer thinks Bowen is a better option for England to have over the Gunners man.
England debate: Danny Dyer thinks Jarrod Bowen is better than Bukayo Saka
“He’s got to be on the plane. I might be biased but I think he’s as good as Saka in that position. I think he’s got all of his attributes, he’s as strong as him or stronger,” he told TalkSPORT.
“I think he’s great with the ball, he can finish and also he can play anywhere up front and I don’t think Saka can.
“Personally, I think it’s a myth that Saka is better. I think Jarrod’s decision making on the field is unbelievable, very rarely does he make a mistake, that man.”
The great thing about this tournament for England is that they have a tonne of options in the attacking and middle third, however they don’t quite have that same squad depth in defensive areas which is a worry. Despite that, the Three Lions are one of the strong favourites to lift the Euros this summer.
