“Quite brilliant” – Martin Keown in awe of Arsenal star against Wolves

Arsenal have demonstrated resilience by reclaiming the top spot in the Premier League table with a convincing 2-0 victory over Wolves on Saturday.

This triumph comes after a challenging week for Mikel Arteta and his squad, marked by a defeat to Aston Villa and an exit from the Champions League at the hands of Bayern Munich.

However, goals from Leandro Trossard and Martin Odegaard at Molineux propelled the Gunners back on track in their pursuit of reclaiming the English crown. With Manchester City occupied with FA Cup action, Arsenal seized the opportunity to accumulate crucial points and exert pressure on their title rivals.

Key to Arsenal’s resurgence was the stellar performance of Declan Rice, whose commanding presence in midfield provided stability and control. Martin Keown, commenting on Rice’s impact, highlighted his presence on the pitch and credited him for the Gunners’ defensive solidity.

Alongside Kai Havertz and Odegaard, Rice showcased his prowess and earned himself the accolade of Man of the Match.

“I thought Declan Rice was everywhere for the team. Quite brilliant. Sat on his own, with a slightly different structure to the Arsenal midfield and they looked really strong. They didn’t look in any real danger,” Martin Keown stated to the Premier League Productions.

As the Gunners gear up for pivotal encounters, starting with Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea, followed by the highly anticipated north London derby against Tottenham, the team faces a defining moment in their season.

These upcoming fixtures will test Mikel Arteta’s team’s character and determination as they strive to maintain their position at the summit of English football.
