Aston Villa playmaker has played his last game for the club and will miss Euro 2024

Nicolo Zaniolo has played his last game for Aston Villa as injury is set to rule him out of the final game of the season, while he’s also going to miss Euro 2024.

The Italy international joined Villa on loan from Galatasaray in the summer and hasn’t had the best impact for Unai Emery’s side, despite some good moments and goals.

Zaniolo was once considered a real wonderkid during his days with Roma in Serie A, but his career is now at something of a crossroads, with Galatasaray likely to sell him this summer, but with Villa surely not set to make an effort to keep him on a permanent deal or with another loan move.

The Birmingham Mail suggest Zaniolo, having now played his final game for Villa, will return to Italy, where there is expected to be some interest in his signature.

It is not yet clear where Zaniolo will end up, but his time in English football seems to be over, and many Villa fans will surely be disappointed that more couldn’t come of his time at Villa Park.

The 24-year-old still has time to turn his career around, and perhaps moving back to Serie A would be the best thing for him now.
