Arsenal battle for excellent £12m Premier League striker: better than Adebayor!

As Arsenal appear to have settled for the fact that Emmanuel Adebayor is on his way out of the Emirates Wenger plans for a replacement and this striker looks better than the Togolese.

Arsenal face a tug-of-war battle with Manchester United for Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz according to media reports.
The Mail on Sunday says the Gunners are favourites to land the Paraguay striker, but will need to meet the Ewood Park clubs fee.
Santa Cruz, who proved a big hit last season for Blackburn following his £3.7million move from Bayern Munich, could now fetch as much as £12million.
But if Arsenal cash-in on Emmanuel Adebayor for a reported £25million, they would have the financial muscle to easily meet that fee. (East London & West Essex Guardian)

Arsenal, and others, will be quick to cash in on the uncertainty at Ewood Park following the departure of Mark Hughes from the club. It has certainly given David Bentley yet more of an excuse to leave his former team mates high and dry. Roque is a totally different case to the former Arsenal man, the striker has pretty much kept quiet as the speculation flew around him following an excellent first season in the Premier League however now it appears that his future may be more up in the air. There are some that say that the appointment of Paul Ince could be an unwise move and some that see it as a brave decision. I guess the biggest challenge for Ince would be trying to make sure that Santa Cruz doesn’t get his head turned by the apparent interest shown by two giants of the game as Arsenal and Man United. Do Rovers fans think that Santa Cruz will be at the club some August? Do Arsenal and United supporters think that the Paraguayan can better last seasons goal return at their club?
