Former Manchester United player claims Arsenal are already out of the title race: This should make Arsene REALLY happy!
by offsidetrap on October 6th, 2008Sunderland boss Roy Keane has never been one to mince words; so when it came time to give his assessment of Arsenal’s title chances this season, Gooners won’t be happy with his response!
‘Of course they can challenge,’ said Keane. ‘If Arsenal can’t challenge what hope have we got? There are four teams we know which will finish in the top four. But will Arsenal finish first? I don’t think so. I think Chelsea and United are stronger - that’s my opinion. ‘Every team has its different characters and different dynamics,’ he added. ‘Arsenal are still a good team but different to the one I played against. There were different characters back then. ‘These days there is no [Martin] Keown, [Tony] Adams or [Patrick] Vieira. You need certain characters in your team.’
It’s a known fact that Arsenal and Keane have never been the fondest of friends. With that in mind, could Keane be correct in his assessment? So far this season, the London club have looked far from spectacular. With a loss and a draw in their last two matches, Arsenal now find themselves four points off the pace set by Liverpool and Chelsea.
What do Arsenal supporters think of Keane’s comments? Are Arsenal already out of the title race; or is this just a comment from a former Manchester United player trying to stoke the fire?

Still too early for such statements but it might come to be true in the end!

the only thing wrong with the players is their consistency…if arsenal play against chelsea, man u , liverpool etc the way they played against porto they will rip them to shreds… for some strange reason they cnt seem to do it on a regular basis…. i think they r too over confident at times n dnt put all their effort into games

I think Keane is right, i love this team and the way they play, i’m confident that every game they go into they can win, but this Arsenal side lacks leadership and sometimes motivation, the three players he mentioned had stacks of both and were catalysts for the rest of the side instilling confidence to every other player on the pitch, at the moment it is too early to say who will lift the title but i feel we have a better chance at the champions league than the prem, that is of course unless something changes the results we are getting, better finishing would be a good start as the last 3 goals we conceded were pretty unstoppable.

no,too early to say that keane.
if arsenal can be more consistent and played the game like how they play against porto, they still have a chance for the title

Arsene has done a lot for this club. Now he has come to the end of his tether. He must go,both for his own reputation and inthe interest of the team.Otherwise,we can onlly get from bad to worse.Arsens does not know any more

we love this team but if the truth be told, the defence has always appeared shacky in almost all matches played so far and with time might prove to be the main cause for lack of success this season.
the manager should consider another seasoned defender as i dont trust the gallas and toure combination anymore. we cannot attack in bouts like flue you need consistency if you are to win anything come end of season.
