Former Arsenal forward Carlos Vela is wanted back at the Emirates Stadium according to reports.

Vela came through the ranks at Arsenal but made just three Premier League appearances for the Gunners before being shipped out on loan to Real Sociedad last season. He had been on previous loan spells at Salamanaca, Osasuna and West Brom earlier in his career.

The 23-year-old Mexican forward made an instant impression, scoring 12 times during his loan spell, and earned a permanent move to the La Liga club last summer. He has continued his form with 11 goals to his name already this season.

His form has prompted suggestions that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is considering a move to bring him back to the Premier League as he looks to add extra firepower to his options ahead of the 2013/14 season.

“I never regretted joining Real Sociedad and the results have proved me right,” Vela told Sportinglife. “I think my decision to come here looks even better now. At no time have I felt otherwise, I came here because I trusted the team and thought they could make progress.

“I want to give more, not just this season but in the years to come. I think we can still go higher.”

Vela is keen to remain in Spain, but has not ruled out a return to the Premier League, which could happen if Arsenal offer £5million as part of an agreement in the £4million deal which saw him head to Real Sociedad.

“Today I am here and just thinking about Real. Arsenal could buy me by paying Real a million Euros more than Real paid. I’m going to give everything for the team, what is going to happen next, I do not know.”
