Liverpool are set to offer a trial to non-league starlet Daniel Carr according to The Daily Mail.

The 18-year old has scored 23 goals in 23 games for his south London side Dulwich Hamlet and has been attracting attention from a number of Premier League and Championship scouts.

His impressive recent performances have persuaded Liverpool to make Carr a firm offer and the teenager is set to join the Anfield club on a week-long loan.

While Liverpool scouts have provided positive feedback on the player’s performances, the club’s hierarchy are hoping to take a closer look at the player and they seek to determine whether Carr has what it takes to cut it at the highest level.

Should Carr sign for Liverpool, it would be a huge step up in quality, with his current side Dulwich playing eight divisions below the top flight.

Speaking earlier in the season, Dulwich boss Gavin Rose acknowledged the likelihood of losing his young stars should a big club come in for them.

‘We’d like to hold onto our boys to give us the best chance of competing in the league, which is so tight. If someone comes in for them at the end of the season then we would give them our blessing as a club.

‘It’s the normal attention from clubs but we’re trying not to focus on that and concentrate instead on the boy progressing.’
