Goalkeeper desperate to see side retain their Premier League status.
Aston Villa goalkeeper has vowed to help Aston Villa avoid relegation from the Premier League this season according to Goal.com.
The 28 year old has firmly established as the number one at Villa Park this season after displacing former Newcastle United and Manchester City stopper Shay Given from the Villa starting eleven.
But that has coincided with a down turn in the club’s prospects that is seeing them currently fight for their continued existence in the English top flight.
The club appointed manager Paul Lambert last summer and the new boss is determined to bring through a number of the club’s younger stars.
Guzan believes the approach will pay dividends in the future but knows the club must first deal with the prospect of their relegation to the Championship.
The stopper is also keen to improve his own game as he looks to continue his tenure between the Villa Park goalposts.
Guzan stated that he is keen to continue getting Premier League games under his belt and justify Lambert’s decision to put his faith in the American goalie.
Villa host Liverpool on Saturday in the Premier League where they will be desperate to secure all three points and put daylight between them and 18th placed Wigan.
