Chelsea could be set to offer Thibault Courtois to Atletico Madrid as part of a deal to bring Radamel Falcao to the club according to The Metro.

The Belgian goalkeeper has been earning rave reviews while playing out on loan for the Spanish side.

His displays have been attracting interest from a number of top European sides with Real Madrid and Barcelona reportedly monitoring the player’s availability.

Chelsea are thought to believe the youngster has a bright future in the game but know they are unlikely to be able to offer him first team football any time soon while Petr Cech remains at the club.

Courtois is thought to be keen to play first team football as he looks to establish himself ahead of Sunderland’s Simon Mignolet in the Belgium national team.

It has been reported that another season long loan deal could be agreed with Atletico Madrid but reports in recent days are suggesting that the Stamford Bridge side could offer Courtois on a permanent basis as part of a deal to bring Colombian striker Radamel Falcao to the club.

Chelsea are keen to bring in a new striker after finally running out of patience with misfiring Spaniard Fernando Torres.

The club are likely to wait until they have appointed a new manager before making a final decision on the matter.
