Ajax have put a number of top European sides on alert after admitting that Christian Eriksen will not be signing a new deal with the club according to talkSport.

The Danish youngster is rapidly establishing himself as one of the hottest prospects in European football after a string of impressive displays for his club.

The 21 year old midfielder won the Eredivisie Player of the Year award last season and has continued to impress for the Dutch giants.

Eriksen has netted an impressive twelve goals this season and has fired Ajax to the top of the Dutch Eredivisie.

The starlet remains highly rated in Amsterdam but his current deal with the club is set to expire at the end of next season.

It is thought that Ajax would prefer to cash in on the player this summer rather than risk losing him for nothing if an extension to his contract cannot be agreed.

An extension is looking more and more unlikely after Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars confirmed that Eriksen does not intend to commit his future to the club.

“Christian has informed us that he will not sign a new contract now,” said Overmars.

“I think he and his agent want to see what their options are in the summer.”

That will spark the interest of a number of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City who have all been reported to be interested in the player in recent weeks.
