Salomon Kalou wants to return to the Premier League.

Lille striker Salomon Kalou admits he would love to return to English football, and is a possible transfer target for Arsenal this summer, according to the Sun.

The 27-year-old was with Arsenal’s rivals Chelsea for six years – with mixed success – before leaving for Ligue 1 at the end of last season. And despite a strong season with the French outfit, he seems fixated on playing in the Premier League again, though he didn’t express a preference for a specific club.

“I’d love to go back to England,” he said.

“I spent six seasons there and I am crazy about the Premier League.

“Players’ careers change so quickly — you never know what will happen tomorrow.”

Although mostly a squad player during his time at Stamford Bridge, the Ivorian has been linked with the Gunners a couple of times before, though Chelsea were presumably reluctant to sell to a rival. However, now that Kalou is with a different club and getting a chance to play regularly and showcase his talents, perhaps Arsene Wenger will finally land his man.

Arsenal are believed to be in the market for extra attacking options this summer, as they are still a little short of goals following the controversial sale of star striker Robin van Persie. Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski have had somewhat inconsistent debut seasons for the club and Wenger might see Kalou as a useful option upfront.
