Chelsea have reportedly made Zenit St Petersburg striker Hulk one of their major summer transfer targets according to the Daily Express.

The 26 year old has struggled for form since moving to Russia and is also being pursued by Tottenham, with Andre Villas-Boas in dire need of attacking additions.

Hulk has apparently struggled to adapt to life in Russia since his £33.8m move to Zenit from Porto last September and has made it clear he would like to ply his trade in the England top tier.

“My future? I love the Premier League,” Hulk stated in March.

“The Premier League is a great competition with great clubs. If I have time, I watch the matches on television.”

One would imagine Chelsea would have the funds to outfight London rivals Tottenham in a bidding war and Blues owner Roman Abramovich apparently sees Hulk as an alternative to number one transfer target Radamel Falcao as the Stamford Bridge side look to bring in a prolific forward to spearhead their attack.

Prior to his move Zenit Hulk has been a major success in Portugal, scoring 57 goals in his last two seasons at FC Porto, and the fact that his Brazilian national team-mates Oscar, David Luiz and Ramires are already at Chelsea may be another feather in the club’s cap.
