Juan Mata will demand urgent talks with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho over rumours that he could be sold this summer, Goal.com reports.

Reports have suggested that Mourinho could be willing to sell the highly influential play-maker because he is not convinced by the Spaniard and could move Eden Hazard into the play-maker role ahead of Mata.

Barcelona are reportedly monitoring the situation involving Mata and are willing to pay £30 million for the midfielder.

Mata is on international duty with Spain at the Confederations Cup and is understood to be aggrieved that he has had no contact with Chelsea since the rumours started.

The midfielder hasn’t spoken to Mourinho as yet but will look to do so after the Confederations Cup.

Reports suggested that Mourinho was not going to give Mata a pay rise that he was due following his exceptional performances for Chelsea last season, however sources close to the player have said that these allegations are rubbish and Mata is currently very happy at Chelsea.

Mata has been a hugely influential figure at Stamford Bridge since he joined from Valencia two years ago.

The Spaniard is currently in the middle of a 5 year contract at Stamford Bridge and was named the clubs player of the year last season.
