Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins is very confident that his Liberty Stadium side will sign Vitesse Arnhem within the next 24 hours according to the Daily Mail.

The move would smash the South Wales side’s transfer record which was set last summer when Swansea City forked out £5.5m to sign Pablo Hernandez.

Bony’s arrival would certainly strengthen Michael Laudrup’s attack and the Dane may well be looking to pair the Ivory Coast international with Michu, who had an outstanding season last term but was arguably the club’s only effective consistent goal-scoring option.

The signing could prove to be Swansea’s sixth signing of a very busy summer with Laudrup already bringing in Jose Canas, Alejandro Pozuelo, Jordi Abat, Jonathan De Guzman and Jonjo Shelvey.

Bony finished last term as the Eredivisie’s top scorer, netting an astonishing 31 goals in 30 appearances.

Vitesse Arnhem finished last term in fourth spot and have already seen youngster Marco van Ginkel complete a move to join Chelsea and look likely to see their top scorer also make a summer exit.
