Jose Mourinho has called both Juan Mata and Fernando Torres to tell them to ignore speculation about their future and has assured them that they are part of his plans for next season, the Daily Mirror reports.

Reports had suggested that Mourinho wanted to sell the Spanish pair to raise funds for his own signings as he looks to tweak Chelsea’s squad for their Premier League campaign.

However, Mourinho has told the pair that they are still part of his plans and he is planning to offer midfielder Mata a new contract to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge.

Both players had been linked with Primera Division winners Barcelona but will now be reassured that their immediate future lies at Chelsea.

The same cannot be said of defender David Luiz, who is also wanted by Barcelona and reports suggest that Mourinho is willing to let the Brazilian leave as the defender doesn’t fit the Portuguese managers style of play.

Many had expected Torres to depart Stamford Bridge this summer following a disappointing spell at Chelsea where he has failed to live up to the £50 million transfer fee that the Blues paid Liverpool in 2011.

However, while Demba Ba looks set to leave the club, Torres will get another chance to prove himself at Stamford Bridge.
