Former Manchester United coach Eric Harrison believes that Manchester United starlet Adnan Januzaj has the potential to be the next Cristiano Ronaldo, the Daily Mail reports.

Harrison was the mastermind behind the famous Class of ’92, which produced the likes of David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and the Neville brothers, who all went on to attain legendary status at Old Trafford under Sir Alex Ferguson.

And Harrison has been impressed with the latest batch of United youngsters, and the Belgian youth in particular has caught his eye with a string of fine performances during the pre season break.

Januzaj lit up Rio Ferdinand’s testimonial game earlier this month with his quick feet and impressive skills, citing comparisons with the Portuguese legend. Januzaj has evoked comparisons with the Portuguese superstar after impressing United staff with his balance, powerful shot and confidence on the ball in pre-season.

“Januzaj is outstanding and I think he is similar to Cristiano Ronaldo. He can beat people and with Wilfried Zaha, I think there is some outstanding quality there,” Harrison said.

Earlier this month the 18-year-old rejected the opportunity to go out on loan this season, instead opting to stay and fight for his place under David Moyes.
