Parkhead manager looks to quash Black Cats move talk.

Check in to Sunderland vs Peterborough United

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has been strongly linked with the vacant Sunderland managerial post though the Northern Irishman has refused to be drawn in on the speculation.

Sky Sports quote the Parkhead boss reacting to talk of a possible move to take over the Black Cats.

“I’m not aware of me being linked with anything. You are asking the wrong person.

“Maybe you should ask the people linking me with the jobs. I’m not aware of who they are. I’m very, very happy doing what I’m doing at the minute.”

The 42 year old has every reason to be enjoying his time at Celtic, the Glasgow side sit joint top of the Scottish Premiership, with a game in hand, and have Champions League football to enjoy.

However having seen the club’s top talents, Victor Wanyama and Gary Hooper, leave the club in the summer he may feel that his side will always be used by players as a stepping stone and may also feel that the ‘challenge’ of winning the domestic title is somewhat unfulfilling and could therefore be open to a possible move to the Premier League at some juncture.
