Red Devils may move for Rams wonderkid in the new year.

Check in to Watford vs Derby County

Manchester United are interested in signing highly rated young Derby County midfield player Will Hughes when the winter transfer window finally reopens for business for the year again in January, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

The promising England Under-21 international has been attracting the attentions of a whole host of Premier League clubs of late, including Liverpool, although this is the first time that the top-flight champions have been linked with the 18-year-old.

However, it is understood that new United head coach David Moyes is now weighing up whether or not to make a move for Hughes in the new year after a string of impressive displays from the Englishman in the Championship this season.

Hughes has been at Pride Park for his whole career, with this current campaign being his third season for the club, and so far the midfield player has managed to find the back of the net on six occasions in total in his 54 matches in all competitions for the Rams, including four strikes in his 49 league outings for the club.

But with a contract at Derby that runs until June 30 2016, Hughes will not come cheap to purchase at the turn of the year for Moyes.
